Real Evidence of Global Warming Proves To Be True
Jeff Plante

Defined Tag:

The threat that global warming poses to our environment continues to be dismissed by many people worldwide. Evidence of global warming around the world seems to dispute this belief. Across the globe, average temperatures are higher than previous years on record, glaciers are melting at rapid rates, and insects which thrive in warmer temperatures threaten to spread disease.

The heat wave that many areas are experiencing is an undeniable piece of evidence of global warming. Increasingly higher temperatures in recent years have not prompted approriate action necessary to prevent them from getting even higher.

Global warming is believed by many to be at least partly caused by the release of methane and carbon dioxide from the burning of fossil fuels. They also result from the cars we drive, which is why there are many efforts by environmental groups to convert our cars to run on alternative fuel sources. In direct relation, continuing global deforestation prevents the absorption of carbon dioxide and as a result, it continues to build up.

Glaciers and icebergs are increasingly melting at a rapid rate due to increased temperatures. Low-lying areas are starting to fall victim to rising water levels, while other areas are increasingly threatened to be underwater in a few years.

An increasing threat to the world is the rapid spreading of disease. Evidence of global warming shows that mosquitoes, which breed and carry disease, are experiencing a much longer breeding season. Unpredictable atmospheric occurrences, such as hurricanes, result in large pools of stagnant water and wetter areas, which are ideal conditions for breeding mosquitoes. Malaria is the biggest concern because mosquitoes are known to carry this disease and can easily spread it to humans. The West Nile Virus is another big concern, especially in regions that have seen an increase in the number of mosquitoes.

Any educated person can see that the evidence of global warming is quite solid. Some of us are living in areas that are experiencing changes such as: warmer average temperatures, a prolonged warm season, a heat wave, threat of tropical storms or hurricanes, or the threat of flood due to melting glaciers. Although the evidence of global warming may not seem threatening to some, it should be noted that these conditions are expected to worsen, especially if preventative measures aren't taken.

Volcanoes Cool The Tropics, But Global Warming May Have Helped Override Some Recent Eruptions (Science Daily)

Climate researchers have shown that big volcanic eruptions over the past 450 years have temporarily cooled weather in the tropics but suggest that such effects may have been masked in the 20th century by rising global temperatures.
